Kindness is woven through the fabric of everything we do. We strive to protect the environment and take a considered approach when creating our products; from recycled and recyclable packaging, to making products in facilities that harness renewable energy to reduce emissions, to better transparency around our responsibly sourced ingredients and respect for local communities. It’s a work in progress, but we are committed to doing better, working to centre responsible practices that address the environmental impact at the heart of our company. Climate & Energy
In calendar year 2025, the use of solar energy at this facility generated approximately 795 megawatt-hours (MWh) of energy. Since 2019, the system has produced over 5,000MWh of renewable solar energy, saving annual carbon dioxide emissions by 1.035 tonnes of CO2e* compared to standard UK grid sources of electricity. (*When calculated using UK Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DENZ) conversion factor of 0,207 kg CO2e/KWh). Since 2020, we have achieved zero industrial waste-to-landfill for our manufacturing site, which we are committed to maintaining.

When it comes to the raw materials used in our products, we are committed to responsible sourcing with attention to potential impacts on people and the environment. Through our parent company, we work with suppliers and partners to map select sensitive supply chain ingredients back to the mill or farm. Increasing our understanding of our supply chain down to the source helps us to understand risk and opportunities at a local level. We know that there is more we can do and are working to strengthen our approach to protecting biodiversity and local communities.

In order to champion progress and continue our journey of improvement, we recognise that we must embrace education and commit to challenging perceptions and practices. As proud members of various organisations, we are able to implement key learnings and share in new processes and practices to guarantee that we are continually evolving and improving.

Mediante la nostra azienda madre, siamo orgogliosi di essere soci fondatori della Sustainable Packaging Coalition (SPC), che mette insieme aziende, istituti di formazione e agenzie governative allo scopo di rafforzare e far progredire il business case in maniera collettiva, verso un packaging più sostenibile.

We zijn diep verbonden met onze Britse afkomst; onze liefde voor onze landschappen en ons excentrieke karakter lopen als een rode draad door alles wat we doen. Voor ons gaat er niets boven thuis, en daarom wordt 97% van onze producten in ons eigen land gemaakt.

Onze kaarsen worden met de hand gemaakt in een omgebouwde zuivelfabriek in de glooiende South Downs, waar elke kaars door de handen van 16 bekwame ambachtslieden gaat en het proces een les in kunst en geduld is.

Onze belangrijkste productiefaciliteit bevindt zich in Hampshire, waar 90% van onze producten wordt vervaardigd. Whitman Laboratories is een speciaal gebouwde locatie die gebruikmaakt van een op zonne-energie werkend PV-systeem dat 12-14% van de jaarlijkse elektriciteitsbehoefte van de locatie genereert (tot 95% tijdens de zomermaanden) en bijdraagt aan de missie van ons moederbedrijf om een netto-koolstofuitstoot van nul hebben.

Het gebruik van zonne-energie in deze faciliteit in het fiscale jaar 2020 genereerde ongeveer 830 megawattuur (MWh) aan zonne-energie, waardoor jaarlijks 490 ton minder CO2 werd uitgestoten - het equivalent van het hele jaar door 268 huizen in het VK voorzien van stroom. Sinds de installatie in oktober 2017 heeft het systeem meer dan 2.000 MWh aan schone elektriciteit geproduceerd. Want als we zoveel van eigen bodem houden, doen we ons uiterste best om het ook te beschermen.
